Caring for Employees

Staff members are invaluable asset of Hong Kong Baptist Hospital.  We do the best to protect their health, help them grow, and facilitate they enjoy a balanced and meaningful lives.

  • Continuous enhancement of our “Family-friendly employment practices” to help staff to have work-life balance;
  • Putting in place a range of better than regulatory leave including annual leave, sick leave, compassionate leave, flexible maternity leave, paternity leave (started as early as on 1 Jan 2011). Setting up of breastfeeding room to encourage breast-feeding;
  • “Employee Assistance Program” includes the provision of free 24-hour counselling hotline, and clinical psychology services, etc. Besides, ministry services for new staff or staff in needs;
  • Set up Occupational Safety & Health Committee and provide OSH training and retraining to staff Communication channels to staff such as internal newsletters, surveys and departmental forums; organizing “Occupational Safety & Green Carnival” to raise staff’s awareness of occupational safety;
  • Annual “Award & Appreciation Day” to send compliments to staff with outstanding achievement and long service staff;
  • Organizing different kinds of staff and family recreational activities;
  • Evaluating staff training needs and providing different kinds of trainings to enhance and widen staff’s skills and knowledge.
