Pharmacy Department

Accredited by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS), our Pharmacy Department is dedicated to deliver high-quality care. We provide comprehensive medication dispensing and counseling services to patients, ensuring support and guidance 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

In addition, we offer a 24-hour Drug Information Hotline (Tel: 2339 8964) for BH patient who seeks immediate assistance with drug-related enquiries. Our team is committed to ensure safe and effective medication use by offering expertise advice whenever needed.

Service Scope

Inpatient and Outpatient Pharmacy Services

Our pharmacy is dedicated to provide safe and accurate medication dispensing in accordance with hospital doctors’ prescriptions. Every prescription undergoes a rigorous verification process, ensuring patients receive properly labelled medications for easy identification.

When dispensing medications, we offer comprehensive counseling to patients, providing guidance on proper usage, precautions of their medications and answering any enquiries they may have. To enhance efficiency and accuracy, our resident doctors utilize electronic prescribing in order to minimize errors, streamline process, and reduce patient waiting time.

Medication Counseling & Patient Education

We are committed to empower patients through education, ensuring they have a thorough understanding of their prescribed medications based on the administration records and discharge orders. Upon discharge, patients receive detailed instructions on medication use, precautions, and other relevant information such as side-effects.For patients with special needs, our pharmacists will provide bedside counseling upon referral.

Additionally, we actively contribute to healthcare education through various initiatives, including:

• Free medication information leaflets for patients
• Large-font dispensing labels for individuals with visual impairments
• Community health seminars at Au Shue Hung Health Center to promote public health awareness
• Educational talk for nurses to enhance their pharmaceutical knowledge
