Managed by Resident Consultants in Paediatrics and a Clinical Psychologist, the Hong Kong Baptist Hospital Paediatric and Adolescent Centre provides holistic clinical services for children and adolescents (0-18 year-old). Apart from the provision of specialized outpatient services, through comprehensive assessment and treatment, we aim to assist the children and their families in understanding and coping with difficulties, obstacles and changes that they encounter through comprehensive assessment and treatment, so as to help the children realize their full potential.

- Cryo-pen for warts and mollusca (Liquid Nitrogen Cryo-therapy)

Skin Prick Test
We offer assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow up to common paediatric allergic disorders such as asthma, allergic rhinitis, eczema, urticaria and food allergy. Investigations including Skin Prick Test, specific IgE testing are provided to help the diagnosis of the aforementioned diseases.
Skin Prick Test is a common and safe method to determine how your immune system reacts to the allergens by pricking a small amounts of suspected fluid allergens to forearm to see which allergens cause swelling, the bigger the size of swelling, the more sensitive the allergen.
- Who should take Skin Prick Test?
If you are suffering from Allergic Rhinitis, Hay Fever, Asthma, Allergic Conjunctivitis, Eczema, Hives, Contact Dermatitis or food allergy, you are encouraged to take the Skin Prick Test.
- Why should you take Skin Prick Test?
It is because the disease you are suffering is actually caused by allergy, the overreaction of your body’s immune system to a specific allergen misidentified are harmful. Whatever the allergen is, allergic reaction symptoms can be miserable, ranging from a runny nose, watery eyes to breathing problems, diarrhea, hives, and even death. If you find out that specific allergen and avoid it, the symptoms and discomfort can be lessened.
