Community Services

Hong Kong Baptist Hospital is always dedicated to fulfilling Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the aim of spreading God’s love and care. In collaborating with charitable organisations and NGOs, we participate in activities covering aspects of Medical Related Projects, Environment, Volunteer, and Charity to support the underprivileged and needy, so as to build up a harmonious community.

Medical Related Projects

Riding on our medical professionalism, we offer free health screening programmes and operation subsidy to serve the needs of different groups of people:

  • Collaborated with Hong Kong Nephrology Group and Hong Kong Baptist University, Diabetic & Kidney Camp was successfully held in 29 Jun 2024. The health check booth’ free lunch and Health Talks was operated by student nurses & 10 staff volunteers and served around 103 participants.
  • Free Health Check was provided to families coaches and members of BEE Family Health Coach Project by “RunOurCity”.
  • Sponsored to Haven of Hope Homecare Hospice for the Dementia & Frail Elders Programme, and free Health Screening package was provided to Carers.
  • Supported Rotary Health Promotion Day for Elderly in 2024 by Eye Centre staff and staff volunteers for providing free eye checkup and health talk to the elderly.
  • In 2024, we organized Family Health Day for providing free health checks, consultation and health activities to 63 underprivileged families. The event was co-organized with Hong Kong Medical Association (HKMA) and supported by Hong Kong Family Welfare Society (HKFWS). It has also been recognized as one of the celebration activities for the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China. 100 staff volunteers supported the event.

Environment

“Think and act green” plays an important role in our workplace and therefore we introduce a series of environmental policies and organize activities to raise staff’s awareness in saving our planet:

  • Supported Green Power Hikeevery year since 2017, In 2024, we organized 4 teams with total 14 staff joined “Medical Services Cup”. We successfully gained two awards on “1st Runner up” at 25km and “2nd Runner up” at 10km and further gained “Supreme Green Award”.
    In 2025, we organized 3 teams with total 9 staff joined “Medical Services Cup”. We successfully gained two awards on “1st Runner up” at 10km and “2nd Runner up” at 25km and further gained “Outstanding Green Award”.
  • Organize collection of materials regularly including toner cartridges, mixed metal, plastic, carton boxes, red packets, and etc. for recycling, together with donation of computer products, second-hand apparels, and books to social welfare organizations.

Volunteer

Our team “Volunteer 222” joins hands with other community charities and NGOs to connect people from different sectors and share the vision of helping and giving:

  • In 2024, we set up an Elderly Visiting Team. The service aims at reducing cognitive decline & slow down degeneration by playing toys and games with elders. The volunteers will visit 4 different social service units for providing volunteer services.
  • Collaborated with Ebenezer Care and Attention Home, 6 months volunteer training program was held successfully including training, internship and outing with visually impaired elderly in 2024. Express heartfelt gratitude to Gammon for the preparing the hand made scarf as Christmas gift for elderly.
  • In 2024, we sponsored and took part in the Christian Action’s 3-Legged Charity Nordic Walk 2024 and received “Gold Sponsor Award” and “Volunteer Service Award”.

Charity

We organize different types of meaningful and creative activities to support charitable organizations in achieving the goal of serving others with love and kindness.

  • We sponsored the Sports Association for the Physically Disabled (SAPD) “Run for Paralympians” through Marathon Charity Programme for fundraising to support disabled athletes in Hong Kong since 2016.
  • Supported the World Vision’s “SKIP-A-MEAL” through organizing in-house Talent Shows for fundraising and won championship in “Highest Fundraising Amount Award” and first runner-up in “Highest Number of Participants Award” in 2021.Until 2024, we have won the championship in “Highest Fundraising Amount Award” for 4 consecutive years and “Highest Number of Participants Award” for 3 consecutive years.
  • We sponsored the Hong Kong Breast Cancer Foundation (HKBCF) “Pink Walk” for fundraising for the breast cancer support and advocacy work of the HKBCF and raise public awareness of breast cancer threats in Hong Kong since 2010.
