Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Under supervision in providing clinical services in RT&O Department and other related department in Baptist Hospital including:
- Assist Physicists to provide medical physics services in treatment planning for patients undergoing external and internal radiation therapy
- Assist Physicist to perform treatment planning and image fusion
- Assist Physicists to perform and develop quality assurance programs to ensure the performance, accuracy and reliability of radiation equipment used in medical procedures that meet international standard. This includes regular testing, calibration, and maintenance of radiation therapy machines, medical imaging devices, and related equipment
- Comply with radiation safety regulations and guidelines of Hong Kong Radiation Board and monitor radiation levels in clinical areas, implement safety protocols
- Assist Physicists to handle radioactive substance and waste
- Provide shift and on-call duty on a rotation basis
- Perform other assigned duties by the supervisor
- To undergo a work-based training program with the objective to develop the staff to:
- Be familiar with and understand the principles of medical physics and radiation protection in all aspects to minimize radiation hazard
- Be familiar with medical radiation dosimetry systems, measurement methods and treatment planning
- Be able to perform acceptance testing, quality assurance maintenance and other aspects of radiotherapy / diagnostic radiology equipment management
- Be familiar with and understand the principles of radiation therapy using radioactive substance
Entry Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Physics (General, Medical, Radiation, Health or Applied Physics) or Engineering (Electronic, Electrical, Computer, Biomedical or Medical Electronic Engineering) or equivalent
- Good command of written and spoken Chinese and English
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
