Admission Notes

1. If there is show, leaking or onset of labour, please come to the hospital immediately. For enquiry, please call your attending obstetrician or our Maternity Unit at 2339 8418.
2. On admission, please bring relevant documents including: – Expectant mother and spouse’s Identity card, or valid travel documents (for non-HKSAR residents), Confirmation Certificate on Delivery Booking (Mainland expectant mothers only), Doctor’s admission letter, antenatal blood test reports, budget estimation form and official receipt of advance deposit for maternity booking.
3. For Elective Caesarean Section, please be admitted six hours prior to the time of surgery and no eating or drinking for six to eight hours before the operation (or as per doctor’s instructions).

• If the caesarean section is in the morning, mother shall admit after 2 pm one day in advance (additional room fees will be charged on the day)
• Normal Operating hour:
  Monday to Saturday 7:30am – 9:30pm (except Sunday and Public Holidays except)

4. Please select the room type on the day of antenatal booking and join the Maternity package plan according to the birth method.

• If the room type is changed during the stay, the higher fee will prevail

5. Expectant mothers are advised not bring any valuable items
6. Check out time on discharge day is at or before 1pm

Excluded items

1. All physicians’ consultation fee including Obstetric, Paediatric, Anaesthetic, other Specialist and vaginal delivery conduction fees by midwife.
2. All special nursing care and equipment fees for abnormal conditions during the antepartum, labour and postpartum periods.
3. The administration of Hepatitis B immunoglobin vaccine to newborns at birth if their mothers are Hepatitis B carriers.
4. Trail of labour expenses (Applicable for Caesarean Section deliveries).
5. Induced delivery during Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
6. Twins or multiple deliveries: additional 35% of hospital charges for every additional baby.
7. Using of forceps or vacuum extraction to assist vaginal birth.
8. Fees for special examinations, treatments and care of newborn.
9. All infant formula.
10. All expenses of service and bed charge which is out of the list of maternity packages.
11. Baby boarding fee.
12. Maternity Administration fees (Applicable for Mainland China Residents).

Note: If you do not participate the Maternity Package, additional 25-50% of service charges will be levied base on the room class.

  • Document required: Maternity Booking Form bearing the Antenatal Booking Number (non-transferable) and Expected Date of Confinement (EDC)

    • Pay in person – present identity document of the expectant mother:

HK Resident – HK Identity Card

Foreigner – Passport

Copy of HK Identity document of the expectant mother is required if payment is made by representative

Please email to obsdeposit@hkbh.org.hk and attach the following documents:

1. Maternity Booking Form;
2. Maternity Registration Form;
3. Bank-in slip.

Remarks: “Maternity Advance Deposit” and “Expectant mother’s name”.

• The Advance Deposit due date as set out within one month from the date on which the Antenatal Booking Number is issued.

Non-HK Residents (Mainland China Residents) 

1. Payment procedure:
   • Expectant mother must complete the first antenatal check-up and blood tests in Hong Kong, come with her husband in person to pay the Advance Deposit and collect the Confirmation Certificate on Delivery Booking in person.
   • The couple must present the valid original copy of:
     • Expectant mother’s Exit-Entry Permit for Travelling to and from Hong Kong and Macau, and Mainland China Identity Card
     • The Husband’s:

1. HK Permanent Resident Identity Card, OR
2. HK Identity Card and One-way Permit to HK and Macau (前往港澳通行證, 俗稱「單程證」)
   • Marriage Certificate of the Couple:
3. Issued by HKSAR Government; OR
4. Issued by Mainland – an extra proof of the marriage notarized by a Notary Public in the Mainland China should also be required; OR
5. Issued by Overseas – an extra proof of the certificate signing officer issued by the PRC Embassy of the country
   • Both the husband and the wife have to take oaths provided from Home Affairs Department separately to prove:
6. They have a genuine marital relationship;
7. Her husband mentioned is the natural father of the child currently borne by the expectant mother;
8. And must attach a copy of Marriage Certificate. If two people are registered in the Mainland, they must attach a notarial certificate to make an oath.
   • Collect the Confirmation Certificate of Delivery Booking after paying the Advance

Note: Maternity booking will lapse if deposit is not paid within the above specified term. Terms and conditions are subject to change without prior notice.

Nursery Unit aims to provide family-centred care for both babies and mothers. 24-hour rooming -in, support mothers to breastfeed and allow continuous proximity, encourage skin-to -skin contact which promote mother-infant bonding.
