Since its establishment in 1963, Hong Kong Baptist Hospital (HKBH) has been serving Hong Kong people for more than 40 years. HKBH is one of the social service institutions of the Baptist Convention of Hong Kong.

Under the Medical Department of the Baptist Convention of Hong Kong, HKBH started as a clinic in the 1950s and gradually developed to be a general hospital as it is today. Following the extension of the South Wing in 1979 and the completion of the East Wing in 1982, HKBH has been launching different expansion projects, which are aimed at improving the hospital environment and obtaining more space to provide highly diversified services in order to cope with the increasing demand for high quality medical services. The establishment of Block D in 2008 represents a significant milestone in the HKBH's development, the Hospital is now a large modern private medical institution with more than 800 beds and a staff strength of around 2,000. In addition, a new Block E is expected to come into service in 2013.

As a Christian hospital, HKBH strives to ensure the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of individuals. In order to fulfill our mission of providing holistic healthcare, we have poured huge resources into our chaplaincy service, hoping that our strong and dedicated team of pastoral staff can offer religious and spiritual support to our staff, patients and their families with sensitivity and compassion. Furthermore, HKBH values patient service and it has set up a patient service department to collect and handle patients' opinions, which are taken into account so as to enhance the Hospital's service quality. HKBH continues to strive for the best medical service and spiritual care for the community.
