As a day activity centre for people aged 50 or above, Au Shue Hung Health Centre aims to help the senior citizens achieve a better quality of life by organising a calendar of social and religious events for its members. Services available for the elderly include health talks, individual counselling, elderly learning courses, volunteer service, community programs and religious activities.

8-Hour Elderly Famine
Elderly Famine is celebrating its 23rd anniversary this year! Jointly organised by Hong Kong Baptist Hospital Au Shue Hung Health Centre, World Vision Hong Kong and Radio 5 of Radio Television Hong Kong, the event aims to raise money for needy children in mainland China. The 8-Hour Elderly Famine has been well received among the elderly, celebrities, artists, performing group and volunteering organization.
Au Shue Hung Health Centre takes part in the organising of the famine as well encourages its members to participate in it. The members fast for eight hours to raise money for the children in need, and the Centre has won the award Top Organization Fundraiser for their dedication of participation in raising money. Furthermore, members volunteer in the famine help out in venue decoration, sales booth onsite arrangement and such to promote a sense of worthiness among the elders.
With the theme of “Together We Build A Better School”, this year 8-Hour Elderly Famine will be held at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium on Wednesday September 12th, and aims to call for elderly participants and raise money for building a better school and dormitory for students and teachers in Jiangxi Province in China.
