Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery Centre
Introduction
The Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery Centre is established with the purpose of providing the best quality surgical service to patients with upper gastrointestinal diseases. Combining advanced technology with a dedicated team of surgeon and nurses experienced in endoscopic and minimally invasive surgery, the Centre aims to treat our patients with minimal trauma and faster recovery. |
|
What is Endoscopic Surgery?
Endoscopic surgery is performed through natural body openings or small incisions in the skin. Instead of big incisions required in conventional surgeries, various miniature instruments can be inserted through the endoscope or small incisions to perform the maneuvers necessary for the operation. Endoscopic procedures result in less tissue trauma, less or even no scarring (woundless), less pain, shorter hospital stay and faster recovery time.

Eight weeks after operation with no recurrence |
Other than less postoperative wound pain, the resulting small scars can be hidden in less obvious sites, and surgical wound infections are much less common using this minimally invasive technique.
