Spontaneous Birth Package

Items / services included :

Mother    Room charges for 4 days 3 nights commencing from delivery day    Specialist nursing care and close monitoring by experienced nurses      and midwives during hospitalization    Continuous fetal heart monitoring during labour    Delivery room charge including basic facilities and equipment      * (No additional charges for assisted deliveries such as vacuum extraction         or forceps delivery)    Basic medications; analgesic injections; gases and local anaesthetic     drugs, etc.    Husbands are welcome to accompany their wives during delivery    Post-natal care    Professional supervision and advice on new-born care :      breast feeding, artificial feeding (such as bottle feeding or cup feeding),      baby bath and umbilical cord care    Discharge instructions and advice Baby    Cot charges for 4 days 3 nights together with the mother    Professional nursing care during hospitalization    Milk powder; clothing and diapers    Umbilical cord blood sampling for neonatal screening (TSH & G6PD),      blood grouping and Rh factor    New-born vaccinations including BCG, oral Poliomyelitis and Hepatitis B    Vitamin K1 injection General Information    Expectant mothers showing signs of onset of labour such as bleeding      or breaking water (i.e. rupture of membranes) from vagina,      or regular uterine contraction, should proceed to the hospital immediately      for examination and observation    Please bring along your and your spouse's identity cards, Doctor's letter,      laboratory reports and maternity deposit receipt (For mainland women,      please bring along confirmation certificate)    No additional charges for spontaneous delivery on weekends      or public holidays    On admission, expectant mothers can opt to join a maternity package or      charge by service items    Expectant mothers who have selected a maternity package on registration      cannot cancel it afterwards. For those who opt to change the bed type during      hospitalization, the package charge will be based on the higher bed type      selected    Check-out time on discharge day is before 1:00pm

Elective Caesarean Birth Package

Items / services included :

Mother    Room charges for 5 days 4 nights commencing from delivery day    Specialist nursing care and close monitoring by nurses and      midwives during hospitalization    Pre-operative care    Theatre charges (including operation theatre facilities, equipment      and anaesthetic drugs)    Post operative and post-natal care    Basic medication and analgesics    Change dressings or off sutures once before discharge    Professional supervision and instruction on new-born care :      breast feeding, artifical feeding (such as bottle feeding or cup feeding),      baby bath and umbilical cord care    Discharge instruction and advice Baby    Cot charges for 5 days 4 nights    Professional nursing care    Milk powder; clothing and diapers    Umbilical cord blood sampling for neonatal screening (TSH & G6PD),      blood grouping and Rh factor    New-born vaccinations including BCG and Hepatitis B    Vitamin K1 injection General Information     Expectant mothers who are scheduled for caesarean section in the      morning are requested to arrive at the maternity unit after 2pm on the day      before operation day or at least 6 hours before operation time for      registration, pre-operative care and preparation    Please bring along your and your spouse's identity cards, Doctor's letter,      laboratory reports and maternity deposit receipt (For mainland women,      please bring along confirnation certificate)    Please do not take any food and drink for 6 hours before the operation    Regular operation theatre hours : Monday to Saturday 7:30am to 9:30pm      (not including Sunday and public holidays)    On admission, expectant mothers are requested to select a maternity      package or charge by service items    Expectant mothers who have selected a maternity package on registration      cannot cancel it afterwards. For those who opt to change the bed type during      hospitalization, the package charge will be based on the higher bed type      selected    Check-out time on discharge day is before 1:00pm

Items/ services which are not included

• All doctors' fee or midwives' delivery fee
• Meals
• Special treatment, medications, equipment, investigations and nursing procedures required for treatment of individual conditions of mother or child
• Induction of labour
• Caesarean Birth Package does not include charges for trial of natural labour
• Immuno-globulin for Hepatitis B carrier mothers
• Private nurses / health care workers

Information on special item charges (Standard rate)

• Twins or multiple deliveries: additional 35% of hospital charges for each baby
• Additional charges for Caesarean birth outside regular operation theatre hours:
  a) Additional HK$2,800 will be charged for emergency operation from 9:30 pm to 7:30 am on
       weekdays, all Sundays and public holidays
  b) Additional HK$1,200 per half an hour will be charged for operation beyond 9:30 pm on
       weekdays
  c) No additional charges for emergency Caesarean Section during regular operation
       theatre hours
  d) Additional HK$7,000 will be charged for elective Caesarean Section at specified time
       during regular operation theatre hours, and HK$23,500 outside regular operation
       theatre hours
• Additional HK$800 will be charged for post-partum sterilization if this is performed with Caesarean Section
• The charge for post-partum sterilization after vaginal delivery is HK$2,900
• The charge for Epidural Analgesia is HK$6,200
• Neonatal jaundice therapy (Phototherapy Package) is HK$705 per day
• If, after the mother is discharged, the baby continues to stay in the hospital for further treatments, the daily hospitalization charge is HK$750, excluding all treatments, medications, nursing procedures and doctors' fee
• For non-Hong Kong residents, special administration charge of HK$7,500 will be levied
• HK$2,500 will be charged for certificate of antenatal booking of Mainland residents for delivery in Hong Kong
