Checklist for the Day of Laser Refractive Surgery
- The surgery will take approximately 30 minutes.
- Contact lenses wearers must stop wearing their lenses prior to the surgery:
- Soft contact lenses: you should stop wearing them 7 days before the surgery
- Rigid gas-permeable or hard contact lenses: you should stop wearing them 3 weeks before the surgery.
- On the day of surgery, you can eat normally and take any medications as usual.
- You are recommended to wear comfortable cotton clothes with buttons or zipper in the front, and avoid wearing pullovers or woolen clothes.
- Stop using eye cosmetics, eye care products, perfume, cologne, and hair spray, etc. on the day of surgery.
- Make sure you wash your hair before the surgery as you cannot wash your hair for 1-2 days after the surgery.
- Make sure you are accompanied by a friend or relative when leaving.
